Some tips and advice from a beach wedding photographer on considerations for the groom and his outfit to make the beach wedding a success.

Picking the right outfit for a beach wedding is about more than just looking good, it’s about feeling comfortable and confident while embracing the natural beauty of the environment. With thoughtful fabric choices, the right balance of casual and formal elements, and personal touches, you can create a wedding look that’s as laid-back or as polished as the setting requires.

At the end of the day, you want to feel relaxed and at ease as you exchange vows with your partner. So take a deep breath, consider the elements, and pick a look that makes you feel like the best version of yourself as you say “I do” by the ocean.

Linen:Linen is a natural fiber known for its lightweight and airy feel, making it ideal for hot weather.

Cotton:Cotton is another versatile and breathable option, especially when used in lightweight forms or blends.

Seersucker:Seersucker is a cotton fabric with a puckered texture that allows for excellent air circulation, keeping you cool and comfortable.

Lightweight Blends:Consider fabrics that are blends of natural fibers, such as cotton and linen, for a balance of breathability and durability.

Other Options:Consider lighter colored suits or blazers in breathable fabrics like seersucker or light blue, light green, or khaki.

Guayabera Shirts:A guayabera shirt is a great option for a beach wedding as it is lightweight, breathable, and looks effortlessly classy.

Sand will be everywhere! Keep in mind that your outfit will likely get a little gritty, so pick clothing that can handle the elements.

Footwear: As mentioned earlier, opt for shoes that are easy to walk in on sand. If you're going barefoot, make sure your feet are well groomed and comfortable.
Dress Pants vs. Shorts: Consider the ease of movement. Some grooms opt for stylish, well-tailored shorts that still feel formal but are practical for walking on the beach. Others may prefer to stick with lightweight, breathable pants. Either way, make sure your outfit stays practical for the sandy setting.

If your bride is wearing soft, flowing fabrics like chiffon or lace, consider choosing lightweight materials to match her look. If her dress has a more formal feel, you might want to tone down the casual elements of your outfit to match her elegance. Keep in mind color schemes so that you don't clash with your bride or your beach setting.

What is usually not considered in these choices is "How well will I photograph in this?" A great idea when out and about trying things on is to take a snap shot on your phone from heat to toe and do a real evaluation of how you look.

I say always be comfortable in what you choose but it's the pictures from your wedding day that you will be looking at for a long time coming. You don't want to cringe every time you see a pictures with you wearing that.....OMG item.
